After 10+ years of shooting I see the same pattern: the best frames come from people who arrive prepared and relaxed. Here is a short checklist.

A week before

Define the goal of the shoot: personal, social media, portfolio or brand — it defines the style and location. Collect 5–10 references you like: not to copy, but so I understand your idea of "beautiful". Agree on the looks: 2–3 outfits are enough for a one-hour shoot.

What to wear

Basic pieces and clean silhouettes work best: solid colors, no large logos or busy prints. Black, white, beige and grey never fail. Bring one "character" element: glasses, jewelry, a statement jacket. Everything must be ironed — the camera sees every crease.

The day before and the day of

Sleep well: tiredness shows in the eyes more than you think. Do not experiment with new skincare or tanning. Eat normally — a hungry person cannot relax. Bring water, a comb and headphones with your favorite music: it releases tension faster than any instruction.

About posing

Do not memorize poses from Pinterest. My job as a photographer is to guide you: where to look, what to do with your hands, when to move. Your only job is to trust the process.
