You cannot reshoot a wedding. Here are the questions I recommend asking any photographer — including me.
1. Can I see one full wedding gallery?
A portfolio is the best frames from different weddings. A full gallery shows how the photographer performs all day: a dark ceremony hall, a reception with mixed light — not just the sunset session.
2. What happens if you get sick?
A professional has a plan B: a trusted colleague and a full handover of all agreements.
3. When and how do I get the photos?
Get the deadlines in writing. With me: all RAW files on the wedding day, retouched photos within 2.5 weeks, delivered via cloud storage kept for a year.
4. How many retouched photos are included?
Clarify the number and the cost of extra retouching beyond the package.
5. Who owns the rights and can I publish?
Discuss social media publishing and the photographer using frames in their portfolio.
6. Is there a contract and a deposit?
A contract protects both sides. No contract is a red flag.
7. Do we match in style and energy?
The most underrated point. The photographer spends the whole day closer to you than most guests. If the call feels uncomfortable — it is not your photographer, whatever the portfolio looks like.
